A Busy, Busy FLT Year

Wow, how did it get to be the end of March already?

FLT has been a busy place this year -- unfortunately, the blog has been one of the things that's not gotten as much attention as we might like with everything else going on, but hopefully it will pick up in the next few weeks.

Kudos to our participants who have been busy working on many educational, job and personal goals this year. So far this year:
  • One person has completed her adult diploma. (And we've got several people only a few steps away from earning their diplomas!)
  • One participant who has started college, earning As on her first two English essays and acing her first math test.
  • One participant earned a near perfect score on a writing test for her high school diploma.
  • Three participants have gotten a job.
  • One participant has taken positive steps toward co-parenting with her child's father in an effort to create the best possible situation for her child.
  • Two participants got their first apartments.
  • Four participants have gotten learner's permits and six participants are completing driver's ed training in preparation for getting their driver's licenses.
  • Two participants obtained Section 8 vouchers.
  • One participant got a car.
Participants have also gained more self confidence, learned to better advocate for themselves and their children and gained skills to help them deal with difficult emotions and tough situations.

Great job, ladies!!!
